Why can my laptop run The Sims 4 but my overpowered PC can't?

I was wondering why my laptop with an intel core i5 with built in graphics and 4GB of RAM run the Sims 4, but my overpowered PC with an intel skylake core i7, GeForce GTX 680 and 16GB of RAM not run it?!

I get this error message: Can't run The Sims 4 with the video card in this system. Please check that the video card meets the minimum specifications and that the latest video drivers are installed.

I have the latest video drivers installed and Origin In Game disabled. Please help!

It's okay, I fixed it now! Had problems with most games on my PC too! Turns out it was a bit of display software that was clashing with my graphics card. Thanks for the help!

  • Try reinstalling the drivers on your PC. That's most often the cause for this message
