Why does my sims 4 keep crashing at startup

I’ve been trying to fix the sims 4 crashing at startup for about a week now, and I’ve tried everything I could think of (updating my graphics driver, deleting and reinstalling the game multiple times, removing my mods, saves, tray files, etc including watching videos on how to help) but nothing has worked so far, and I really need help because at this point I’m about to give up

  • @ac11679  When Sims 4 crashes at startup, it's almost always a user-side issue, whether a system issue or a software conflict or mods or something else.  (When it's a game issue, it's typically about a specific configuration that hasn't been accounted for, but in those cases, we see many more reports with specific hardware involved.)  It's therefore not EA's responsibility to fix.  EA also doesn't provide phone support except in France and Germany.

  • Same. My game did the most recent update, and I also got the Lovestruck pack. Could play for 5 minutes, it'd crash or would be stuck in a saving loading page for a really long time, forcing me to shut it down. I have updated everything on my gaming laptop, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and I have no mods or cc downloads right now. Been playing since the game came out and have never had an issue.

  • @pamela2000232934 and @BoneJett  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit without any crashing.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

  • I’ve tried doing that multiple times but it still crashes, but right now I’m still trying new solutions and it seems to be working so far, but thank you anyways for trying to help, I’ll let you know if it still keeps crashing

I'm having the same issue. We shouldn't have to be in group chats discussing these issues. Why isn't EA doing anything to fix these issues? We should be able to call them directly to get the help and support we need. I tried everything that I was told to do and it's still not working.
