I'm getting really annoyed now!! Basically my sims wont load up, it gets onto the game and goes through everything then gets in to Sims 4, thing before you can play or create a new family. And just gets stuck it freezes my whole laptop. I'm really confused. I go on task manager but it wont let me go onto it or anything else. Or shut the game down. So the only way sort it out is to shut down my whole laptop but than it happens again and again. PLEASE if you have anything to help tell me!! 😞😢

Hi @NoraSims04, Please, try the game without your mods/custom content. To do so, go to Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 and move the "Mods" folder to your desktop. Then open the game again and check if it works. If it does, it means at least one of your mods isn't compatible with the updated game and needs to be updated/removed. You will need to try until you find the faulty mod. If even without mods the game is still not working, then you can find instructions on how to perform a dxdiag here. Good luck! -Mai

@NoraSims04 Is your computer a pc or mac? Did the game ever play? If your computer is a pc please post your computer's dxdiag.

My computer is a PC but i downloaded the game as a mac because otherwise it wouldn't work. I updated my game for the latest update and got onto it but then i realised my cc was disabled so i got got of it then restarted the game but it hasn't worked since. And i'm really sorry i don't know its dxdiag

You cannot download the Mac version of a game onto your Windows PC and vice versa, Origin won't allow it. Do you mean that you purchased the game from Origin's website, using a Mac? That doesn't matter as you purchased the game, not a platform specific version so it will show up in your Origin games library regardless of whether you are on a Windows PC or a Mac.

Thank you so muck it worked but how do I know what mod it is? Because I am one of those people who can't live without them.

Hi @NoraSims04,

You will have to put some mods, try if it works with those. If it works, put some more... Until it stops working and then you know the faulty mod is between those you just installed.

So you remove the mods you just installed and you need to install them again in smaller groups.

It requires patience.

Hi i'm really sorry to bother you again but it seems that most of my mods were deleted in the moving of the folder id there any way to get them back as I had a collection of over 100 mods and now I have about 10.

That's weird, files can't be deleted when you move a folder. Please, check if they are in another folder or in your recycle bin.
