why wont my sims household load

Recently after buying the sims seasons and university and playing around with it after a while. My games will not load my household, as in after selecting a certain house to proceed to play in it will not load, it will play the little jingle it does when the game does load into a house but mine stays on the loading screen. 

I'm not sure if it is my sims, although it is only two sims. i am playing in that small shared house in sims university in the Britechester campus just recently. The only problem i can think of is if 
1. it is because of my custom content, although that has never bothered the game as of yet
2. editing the lot, although i had previously done that to one of the dorms and it hadn't bothered the game either. 

I've tried to update the game and repair it, yet still no luck, if i could have help that'd be much appreciated! thanks!
