Will playing sims 4 without laptop mode damage my laptop in the long run?

i've been playing the sims on laptops for years, the only issue is overheating. and overall, gaming laptops just are more durable when gaming is the thing you use it for the most.

in my experience, the better i set the graphics to be the more my laptops heat up. but i've been using pretty high graphics settings for a long time now, with a gaming laptop. no laptop mode!
