budget max 500 really.. preferably cheap as possible, going to literally be for the sims and that’s it haha.
really appreciate that, considering I work with computers I just can’t differentiate the graphics.

@BeccaGoldwater There aren't a lot of good options for £500 or less, probably because everyone is buying laptops to work from home. Still, I found a few.
This is as low as I'd go for Sims 4. Its processor and graphics chip can handle medium settings, but multitasking while playing might not work so well. It also doesn't have a lot of storage: 128 GB is really only enough for the game, Windows, and whatever other small apps like browsers you'd want to install. (10 GB of custom content might be fine; 30 GB would be pushing it.) It's £450:
These laptops are £500, except for the first one. They're all in the same class in terms of performance: medium settings would be fine, or medium-high if you didn't have all the demanding expansion packs; light multitasking wouldn't be a problem; 256 GB storage is plenty for a computer that would mostly just be for Sims 4. These are listed in order of increasing processor strength, although the gap is not large. It wouldn't matter Sims 4, since the limiting factor would be the graphics chip, but you might notice a difference if you were doing heavy photo editing or something else more taxing of the processor.
(The first two are the same computer; Currys might match Dell's price if asked.)

The next higher class of laptop starts at £600, and it sounds like you're not interested in spending that much.
