"You must be online when logging for the first time"

Hello! My name is Anna, I the Sims 4, and was really excited to play,but the thing is, I can't. Every time I go to log into origin, the downloaded version, it tells me "You must be online when logging in for the first time". I've tried everything on the internet, but nothing seems to work. Please help me, I spent $59.99 on a game that I can't even play. What a waste of money! Please help me so I can play this game. Thank you.
