When I first launched the game I had the option of changing the settings for shadows, but even after completely turning shadows off the black boxes were still there. I've downloaded the Nopke shadow fix but they're still appearing in my game, and for some reason the shadows option is now completely greyed out.
@ictofaun, there are several ways to fix this. Granted it's easier to use the mods, but I checked out Nopke's shadow fix and there were several versions to choose from. I'm not sure which one you used, but I did find another solution.
