Can't Launch Sims Medieval on Windows 11 with EA App

I have owned TSM for years, finally logged in with EA App after years of not playing and the game shows up in the EA app but not in Origin. I have done the following things to troubleshoot my start, as I have a 12th Gen Intel chip:

  • Installed the Alder Lake Patch
  • Tried running the Powershell script before launching
  • Allowing TSM, SMLauncher, and SimsMedievalLauncher to my allowed apps via the Windows Firewall

Regardless, launching the game directly connects to the EA app with the "Your game failed to launch" error (attached), or with the "Unable to start" error (attached) when launching SMLauncher or SimsMedievalLauncher directly. If I have Origin open, TSM requests permission to make changes to my PC which I allow, and then nothing happens, presumably because Origin doesn't recognize my copy as legit. Unfortunately I don't have the code on me at the moment.

Please let me know if I'm missing a step.

  • Similar to your case, the game shows up in EA App but not in Origin for me. And I get an error when I try to download it.

I was finally able to download but now having the same issue with yours.

Please find the game executable and disable all compatibility options. If you have clicked at the compatibility option run as administrator the game will not run.

  • @3143bcabe948651a , Also check the Sims 3 section for threads about running Sims 3 through the EA App as both games share a similar format and there could be information there that could help you and others.
