CC in CAS will not show in Sim2 Ultimate Collection

I have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on a Windows 11 laptop installed. Default Replacements for clothing and hair show up, Build and Buy items show, but just regular CC in CAS doesn't show.. I have the 4GB Patch installed.

This puzzles me. Anybody a clue what to do?

Update: I followed the Game Help from MTS. It took me about 3-4 hours to complete the whole process and numerous restarts of the game. Finally it worked!

The clue was making clean folders (explaned at MTS) by taking the old ones Downloads and SaveSims to the desktop. Using TheSims Bodyshop to create the clean ones and after that putting the content back in. Restarting, checking options for showing CC. Now I have to do some stuff on the Graphics again.

  • @franniewee Please go to Options - Game Options, and confirm that Catalogs Display Custom Content is set to On. Also, click on the Custom Content star under the Display Custom Content at Startup option and confirm that Custom objects are currently enabled, then restart the game.

Double-check that all your Mods and Custom Content have been extracted from RAR and ZIP archives into your Sims 2 Downloads folder, in case they came in them.

  • @mate54 Well, I did check the options and checked that they were as you stated (but they already were)
The funny thing is CC in Build and Buy mode appear, (with the asterix marking it in the catalogue, however
in CAS CC doesn't appear UNLESS I click the dices and sometimes I get CC hair in the random Sim. But no signs of an asterix there.
I'm now busy checking all my CC in the Downloads folder. Checking on rar, zip files, checking on if cc hair has a mesh. I'm about halfway. The only solution I see is the half in half out rule (MTS) or maybe uninstalling and installing all over again...... But I'm open to other solutions.

@franniewee Since I do not know which CC you have (you could name a few items and the creator, just don't link them, so I can try loading them in my game), do you know if that CAS CC is available for the ages you were looking for, and binned under hair colors or under custom hairs (like colorful hair you can get when you change appearance on the mirror)?

Either way, you can generate a clean Sims 2 folder and test one or two pieces to see if they show up. I can't remember many pieces off the top of my head, but I remember I have some hairs made by Nouk on Mod the Sims and they show up correctly binned under hair colors.

To generate a clean Sims 2 folder, go to Documents\EA Games\ and rename The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection folder to The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection MAIN or something similar. Then launch the game and a new folder will be created without any Mods/CC. You can install a few pieces in there (after making a Downloads folder) to check if they show up. Make sure you double-check the settings I mentioned in the previous message, and restart the game just in case.

Once you have tested things and don't need the new folder, you can delete it and rename your original folder back to The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection to get all your user data back.
