I'm religious, but my Sims aren't. When I was a kid I felt a little bad that my Sims didn't go to church on Sundays, since that's what I did and that's what was right to me. But now that I'm older it doesn't phase me. It's just a game, like how there are books I read that include nonreligous characters, or characters of different religions. I like that religion isn't forced into the game, but now that you've brought up the topic, I do wish there were more base game things you could use to get a religious effect. Or I just might not be very creative. ;)
All my Sims have general morals though, however you might define where that comes from.
