Error Message 8016 please help!

I got the Sims 2 UC today and after installation, I tried to run it and I am getting an error message "A security module cannot be activate. This program cannot be executed. (8016)" 

I did some searching I tried changing the compatibility to all available options through troubleshooting compatibility. I tried the right click -> properties -> compatibility tab but there is no compatibility tab. 

I am not running any emulating software, no virtual drives, everything is legit. I have windows 10 OS. Please help! I REALLY want to plays Sims 2.

    Hi @viverrinae,

    That error is usually related to Intel Skylake Processors. To fix it, you would need to install an update in your system.

    Let's make sure this is the case. Could you share a dxdiag with us so we can take a look to your computer specifications? You can find instructions on how to get a dxdiag here, and you can attach it to your answer.

    If you already know which processor you have, and you know it's an Intel Skylake, you can also go to the manufacturer's website to download the latest updates for it.

    Hi @viverrinae,

    Sorry for the delay. Yes, your processor, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6200U, is a Skylake. The error should be fixed by updating your BIOS.

    You can find drivers and updates for your computer here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/inspiron-13-7353-laptop/drivers/simple (make sure that's the model of your computer).

    Please, read carefully the instructions on Dell's website before updating your BIOS, as this is a delicate process.
