I can honestly say that I have never posted to a forum's intro thread before and, probably would not have done so here were it not for the parameters required for "membership". That said, I have no problem with the "rules" as a means to a very good end. If this is, in fact, a direct line to the games developers and players then it seems like a good deal to me!
I've been playing The Sims literally, since day one. I've owned every EP for every flavor of the game offered so, I would have to say that I kind of like the game. In a world where virtually all games are some variation of the same theme, good vs bad, conflict, vengeance, revenge, etc.., The Sims stands apart. There are, certainly, other "God games" but, they are, for the most part, pretenders. Though there have been stumbles along the way, I feel that The Sims represents the best of what gaming can be. The language, hilarious. The music, iconic. The look and feel, unique. The gameplay...let's just say, is a work in progress. But, that's true of the real life that the game emulates so well. Like the sim's I've created, I spend a lot of my time wondering what the "plum" there is to do!
I've strayed from the intent of this thread so, more to the point, suffice it to say that as far as the demographic bell curve for this game is concerned, I'm pretty far on the edge. That doesn't curb my exuberance for the potential that I see with this version of The Sim's! I sense that there are many great things to come!
