I appreciate the guide for people that need it.
I recently converted my disk copy into an Origin copy via code redemption after it crashed while saving and corrupted its core files. Rather than manually fixing it and waiting for it to happen again, I decided to let Origin repair the game.
According to other people on the Sims Medieval fan site forums, Origin no longer offers this game for download even if you do have the disc and code. Some were not able to even get EA to listen and fix it to allow them to download it through Origin. I have no idea if that was true or not but there were dozens on some sites who had the discs couldn't get them to work or install properly and Origin and EA were not allowing them to add it to their collection and download it anymore. I don't know if they went back to letting people download TSM or not. I don't want Origin myself. Why would I need a downloader when I have two perfectly good discs of the same game. I don't need a downloader. :)
