How to put objects downtown use them (like beds, etc) and update error

there's this, specifically the "how to put objects downtown" section, but I'm quite clear on the instructions. Actually, does anyone downtown sell coffee you can drink for energy? https://gamefaqs....

I know I can uninstall the sims complete collection and re-install, but I've made progress in the game and don't want to lose it, also I'd have to re-install the mods I already have.
