how to put objects in the downtown area and error updating sims

there's this, specifically the "how to put objects downtown" section, but I'm quite clear on the instructions. Actually, does anyone downtown sell coffee you can drink for energy?

I download the transmogifier double clicked the file ONLY, now I am getting this message "It has come to our attention that you have installed another expansion pack after the complete collection, for this to work properly The Sims makin magic installer will now update your installation"

Then I get........an unknown occured aborting setup. So, as it stands I can't even open my sims complete collection game to play it, now. I don't know what it means by expansion, there are no official expansions after makin magic, except fan made stuff/mods, so that's why I'm guessing it was the the transmogifier
