I cannot register my Sims Castaway Game

I have the serial number, is the the same as the code needed to register?

I've put it in the register part but it says "This code is not valid"

I don't know if I have to ask EA support to find the code via the serial number.

    This game was released in the sims 2 era, before the sims was on origin, the predecessor of the EA app. I don't think it is possible to register it as this game is not for sale in the EA app.
