Life Skills for Special Needs Young Adults
Hello. I am new to The Sims and I have a special needs teen who is becoming a young adult. There has to be a massive community of us wondering if there might be a version of Sims where we can benefit from for teaching life skills and routine social encounters. Things we are looking for include errands at different types of stores, taking cabs or public transportation, doing routine chores, pet care, using good manners, cooking, safety, mild interpersonal challenges, polite social interactions, and perhaps interactions with librarians, police, firefighters, dentists, and doctors. Things we are hoping to avoid is material of complex relationship interactions, suggestive or mature, combativeness, and introducing ideas of mischief that could get an adult with autism, social, or judgment-making deficits from getting into potentially serious issues. For example, definitely do not want to train impressionable minds how to make firemen come to our houses! Can you suggest a version of The Sims that would be ideal for just teaching life skills, family, and community interactions? Maybe there are settings that can be adjusted or an expansion pack that would suit our needs? If not, what if there was an "expansion pack" that simply trimmed the more complex relational features of a base game? We can really see the potential value of Sims for allowing those with special needs to process, practice, and repeat grown-up responsibilities, self-care, social situations, and how to respond to safety issues. Thank you! Special Needs DadWhat mysteries in The Sims series are your favorite?
And what are your headcanons surrounding all or any of them? I don't know all the mysteries of the Sims Series but I do like the Villareal Family Mystery and what happened to Bella Goth. Also, I feel like the Mysteries page on Fandom is incomplete if anyone could let me know of other mysteries it doesn't include? It would be nice to fill that out a bit more. ---- My headcanon on the Villareal Family is that Mrs. Villareal was bitten by Vladislaus Straud, a vampire and quickly realized she felt the urge to drain her children and husband dry so she left to protect them. She changed her name and became Miss H*ll (Marybell Smith) as a partial reference to feeling bad about being away from her family but knowing she had the responsibility to never see them again. She sired Hugo and Max Villareal. Luna Villareal came around when Bella Goth disappeared and lost her memory. Between the time she was abducted and arrived in Strangetown, aliens combined Jacques' DNA after abducting him for a few nights and driving him insane, with Bella's and created Luna who was left on Jacques' doorstep but the aliens always watched out for her to document anomalies for their experiment as well as to protect her from danger. This is intended as a continuance of Jacques Villareal's Wife56Views0likes0CommentsEA Killed The Sims Mobile and Left Players With Nothing
This decision makes no sense and deserves to be called out. The Sims Mobile was the only Sims game on mobile that respected players’ time, creativity, and emotional investment. Instead of expanding it with more careers, hobbies, and worlds — which players repeatedly asked for — EA chose to completely shut it down. This was not because the game was bad. This was not because there was no demand. This was because EA decided it was easier and more profitable to abandon it. Pushing players toward The Sims FreePlay is not a solution. FreePlay is a fundamentally different game: excessive timers, limited Create-a-Sim, restricted building, outdated mechanics, and aggressive monetization. It does not replace Sims Mobile in any meaningful way. For iPad and mobile-only players, EA effectively removed The Sims entirely. There is no alternative, no successor, and no acknowledgment that a large part of the community preferred story-driven, fast, creative gameplay over timer-based grinding. This shutdown shows a complete disregard for player feedback. Many of us would have continued supporting Sims Mobile if EA had invested in meaningful content instead of abandoning it. EA didn’t just shut down a game — it broke trust with its players. At the very least, the Sims Mobile community deserves: • a clear and honest explanation • acknowledgment of what was lost • and reassurance that future Sims mobile projects will not repeat this mistake Silence and forced migration to a worse product is not acceptable.523Views2likes4CommentsJust a suggestion
IDK but to me it seems like we do need that change to the Sims now to where they can actually speak English and not gibberish now that's not to say that the gibberish is not iconic for the Sims it really makes up the characters but In my opinion alone I think the company should switch the Sims to talking plain English now but only try it on 1 platform which should be for the PC if you transition the Sims this way into proper English talking with different voices to choose from I think you'd stand to make more money 🤑 and open the future sums up for other platforms to make even more games just like it if it works out.[Academic Survey] How First The Sims Experiences Shape Brand Perception
Hello everyone, I'm currently working on my university thesis about how players' first experiences with The Sims series shape the way they see the franchise today. If you started with The Sims 3 or The Sims 4, your perspective would be especially valuable to me, but all Sims players are very welcome. The survey is anonymous, non-commercial and takes about 5–7 minutes to complete. Every single response genuinely helps me move forward with my research, and I'm genuinely grateful to anyone who decides to participate. Thank you very much for your time and support. Here's the link to my survey: https://forms.gle/fDVvVAusHErwHmdh6165Views2likes3CommentsThe Sims Medieval won't launch
I uninstalled and re-downloaded the Sims Medieval and it didn't work at all. I downloaded powershell and ran this thing that was marked as a solution before: echo "Launch Sims Medieval..." Launch Sims Medieval... PS C:\Windows\System32> PS C:\Windows\System32> do{ >> $TSM = Get-Process TSM, SMLauncher, SimsMedievalLauncher -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue >> }until($TSM) and when I tried to run the Sims Medieval, it pooped out this: PS C:\Windows\System32> PS C:\Windows\System32> $Affinity=$TSM.ProcessorAffinity PS C:\Windows\System32> PS C:\Windows\System32> $TSM.ProcessorAffinity=1 PS C:\Windows\System32> PS C:\Windows\System32> Start-Sleep -s 5 PS C:\Windows\System32> PS C:\Windows\System32> $TSM.ProcessorAffinity=$Affinity SetValueInvocationException: Exception setting "ProcessorAffinity": "Cannot process request because the process (57268) has exited." PS C:\Windows\System32> $TSM.ProcessorAffinity=$Affinity I love TSM and I want to play it very much. I tried to use the EA contact support thing, but every time I said "The Sims Medieval won't launch" to the chat bot, it ended the conversation abruptly. I can't believe the state that EA is letting their app support slip to. This is so disappointing. Why would I ever buy another EA game if it's so hard to get support for them? And if you don't plan on keeping up with game maintenance for an old game, why re-release and re-sell it??74Views0likes1CommentThe Sims Creator Program

What is the difference between The Sims Creator Program and the EA Creator Network? They’re made to work in tandem! The Sims Creator Program upholds the values, goals, and strategies that serve our Sims creators. The EA Creator Network is home to EA’s creators across its games, and is one of the tools to provide many of the important perks and franchise-specific access and opportunities. The Sims Creator Program operates using the Creator Network, and it’s one of the channels where once approved as a Sims creator, you can expect to hear from our team. I’m already a member of the EA Creator Network, but not of The Sims Creator Program. How can I request to join The Sims Creator Program? If you are a member of the EA Creator Network and have The Sims listed as your primary franchise, you’re already in The Sims Creator Program! Please reach out to your local POC to find out what opportunities and perks you can access. What constitutes an “active creator?” You actively create content across one or more The Sims titles, and “active” may look different across different platforms. As a baseline, you should have The Sims content on your main channel within the last 30 days, and a history of content from at least the last 90 days. How often do you review spots for The Sims Creator Program? We value every creator who requests to join The Sims Creator Program, so we’ll be reviewing each request with careful attention. Reviews will be ongoing, at the team’s discretion, and you can expect new cohorts of creators every month or two. Who is not eligible for The Sims Creator Program? The Sims Creator Program is not open to anyone who has violated the terms of any previous EA creator program (e.g. EA Game Changers), the EA User Agreement, EA Creator Network Guidelines, or those employed by other industry developers/publishers. Those who were removed from any previous EA Creator Programs are also not eligible to rejoin and/or be reinstated. I’m a parent, talent manager or agency representative and I represent a creator that wants to be a part of this program. Can I be a part of the program on their behalf? Unfortunately we do not allow talent agencies, talent managers or parents to apply or take part in this program on behalf of individual creators. Can I apply with my fan site to The Sims Creator Program? Yes, creators who operate fan sites of The Sims may apply to The Sims Creator Program and will be required to sign the same agreements as other EA Creator Network creators. What is the Support-A-Creator initiative? Support-A-Creator is a partnership program that enables The Sims 4 community to support creators when purchasing The Sims 4 content on the EA app store. This means creators will have the opportunity to earn commissions by promoting EA products using their unique Creator Code. Becoming a member of The Sims Creator Program entitles you to your very own Creator Code, which means purchases of The Sims 4 and other EA content (eg. Kits, Expansion Packs, other EA games) from the EA App, EA.com store or in-game purchase flow using your Creator Code will count towards supporting you. As a member of the The Sims Creator Program, do I have to participate in every opportunity that I’m invited to? Not at all! Creators may choose to participate in as many or as few opportunities as they like. I requested to join but was not successful or my submission wasn’t reviewed. Can I reapply? If you received an email inviting you to reapply, you can do so 90 days from when you receive that email. If you don’t receive an email from us after 90 days, please log back into the EA Creator Network site to check your status and eligibility to resubmit a request again. How do I know if a creator has created some form of content connected to the EA Creator Network or The Sims Creator Program? Members of the EA Creator Network and The Sims Creator Program must adhere to disclosure policies for content that they create and creators are responsible for including prominent disclosures on content connected to the EA Creator Network and The Sims Creator Program. Do the actions of The Sims Creator Program creators outside any EA game affect their program participation? Yes. If you see a creator who is part of The Sims Creator Program behaving in a way that you believe may break our EA Creator Network Guidelines or The Sims brand values, you can report them here. Can I participate in third party paid sponsorships while being a member of The Sims Creator Program? You may be approached by companies other than EA to perform sponsorship or promotional services on behalf of their marketing and promotions campaigns. In general, EA does not object to EA Creators pursuing these opportunities provided the use of EA marks, logos, or products such as The Sims franchise and its games are not used or featured in these other campaigns. The only exception to this is if the 3rd party paid sponsorships violate our EA Creator Network guidelines. How can I, a representative of a third party organization collaborate with EA and/or The Sims and The Sims Creator Program participants? Who should I reach out to first? We appreciate you taking interest in The Sims and the amazing creators we collaborate with.
