I played Sims 1, skipped Sims 2, played Sims 3, skipped Sims 4 (bought the base game when it came out and figured it was aimed at tween players not adults). I still am fascinated by all the creative possibilities of Sims 3. It’s looking a bit dated stylewise now, but I love some of the characters I’ve played the most and I still find surprises in gameplay. I’d buy a Sims 5 base game just in case it was an up to date version of Sims 3 with cuter graphics.
