This. I too really prefer the way they have done it in Sims 4. In TS3, I used mods to actually prevented a lot of the nonsense of the way it was done in that game. For me what broke the camel's back was I had a human sim who was married to a vampire. They had several grown children, and she was an elder when something eventually caused her to gain a star. Then all of a sudden she was being shamed for being married to a vampire, even her own children would treat her badly. To me, it would make me think of the days in the past where people would treat a couple badly because they were not of the same skin color, aka race.
