When they said single player did they confirm offline? When they said Cloud save, did they say also pc saves would be possible? I don't recall they confirmed offline nor pc saves in the earlier info about Rene Project. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised they need someone to facilitate the multiplayer side of Rene. But I believe a divided house can't stand, one side of the game will get more attention and budget than the other side, so, I know any multiplayer feature will certainly take away from any budget for the single player side of a game. Considering how much people feel about the lack of 'gameplay' in TS4 I'm not sure Maxis can pull off a multiplayer/single player game if that is where they are headed.
Except that is not true.Due to the fact that confirm multiplayer mode is just regular multiplayer. That Single player and multiplayer mode will be the same game.Just that in multiplayer you can have your friends over.
Have they even said people can play with friends or invite their friends to play? Have they even explained how that works? I think you make a lot of assumptions of what Maxis' idea of multiplayer might be for this game. I don't recall them mentioning it would be a co-op sort of game. Maybe it's just a server world where your Sim goes to compete against other players to gain a goal, and or where you log in to build things with other players since they have been leaning more and more toward competitions and collaborations for the next generation.- OldeSimsFanNew Traveler

Somehow I have the feeling that the vast majority of Sims players has no Sims-playing friends. But perhaps I'm wrong.
I have the feeling that your feeling could be quite accurate. None of my friends plays computer games at all, never mind Sims. As for the multiplayer thing, have tried games like that and don't like them. It's a great way to get nowhere fast. A game like Sims is particularly ill suited to that mode, the too many cooks in the kitchen thing, or perhaps playing by committee. - OldeSimsFanNew Traveler

Nor I. Sounds like they are trying to please everybody by providing for all platforms and play styles. Problem is, they would likely wind up truly pleasing nobody. The resource pie is only so large, so inevitably some slices will be larger than others, and not necessarily according to need. - i_love_frogs_11Seasoned AdventurerI get that it’s cool to have a multi-player option but i hope it’s not a huge portion of budget for this part of project rene. The Sims has always been my safe haven AWAY from the world. Besides the fact that my friends don’t play the sims, i don’t want to invite ppl into my sims experience. I reserve that for actual online, MMO-styled games such as DBD. And yes, I know multi-player is NOT the same as MMO, but regardless, I wouldn’t use either feature. I feel like EA wants to make all the money!!!! but won’t actually listen to what the majority of their consumer base for this game are saying. If this game franchise falls because EA decides they want to give into online game-style trends as opposed to what makes The Sims great, I will never forgive them.
- Beardedgeek72New SpectatorBetween the free-to-play monetization stuff (aka a classical mobile game) and a very probably "always online game-as-service" model like Diablo 3 and 4 and Sim City (remember that fiasco?) this whole thing is a hard no for me.
I don't do multiplayer. Period. And I don't do micro transactions. Period. Oh and I don't do subscriptions, either. - Anonymous

Not afraid, I just don't want to. "stylesdruk;c-18288536" wrote:

I'm the opposite. I get creeped out by people who want to meet and play with people online. lol Collaborations would be ok, if there wasn't going to be the same old story, song and dance of jealousy between cliques and envy and strife with whose stuff is promoted and whose stuff isn't promoted and who EA advertises and then some other little fish in the sea who isn't all googly eyed over EA might get less support in such a venture. I know those sorts of things are going to happen. They happen in every collaboration, every build, every multi adventure, on every game genre. Supplying a house or a custom shirt etc. to share for free is ok, and people are generous, and I have been, too. However, collaborations and co-ops and multiplayer type games are full of envy and strife in the end. The Sims is a very personal possession sort of game. People get bent out of shape even if someone redecorates one of their builds and even if they state they redecorated the original design build (but not the framework etc.) they get all insulted. It's bound to happen even in a collaboration of who did more work, who didn't really contribute all that much etc. We have already seen it here and during that collaboration stuff game show thing Ninja did for awhile.
I'm more afraid of those who want my Sim to hook up with their Sim and play a true multi player game...uh, no, too icky for me.- Beardedgeek72New Spectator

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims5/comments/15ofytb/something_concerning_in_this_job_listing/ - Rambley_RaccoonSeasoned NewcomerEA needs to stick with Sims games being for computers and home consoles(like Xbox and Playstation). They're trying to please EVERYONE,and thar's just going to wind up being disasterous for EA and Sims fans.
In the words of Aesop: "If you try to please everyone, you'll wind up pleasing nobody."
