There is no Sims5, it was confirmed by EA last year. Renee is about refreshing Sims4, adding custom color wheels, multi-player, and other things Paralives will be offering. But I don't expect it to be released until next year at the earliest.

EA stated clearly there will be no Sims5, yet Sims4 will remain their focus, so how else am I to read what Renee or Project Renew is about? It's a Sims4 Refresh with multi-player support and customization tools up the wazoo!

The Franchise will lose thousands of players...Traditional simmers that have supported the game from the beginning.
We are still playing. I am not into sharing a multiplayer save in this game with other simmers in this community.
This game is my private escape and the forced events are a bad foreshadowing of what's to come with this franchise.
The engine is a joke and they have been trying to compensate it with buggy addon's and EPs for a decade.
If inZOI or any new life simulation game shows a glimpse of new gameplay that simmers have been wanting, then you can count on real competition coming in the future for this 25 yr old game, The Sims.
The way I understand the multiplayer option will work is public areas, community lots will be public, home lots will be private, but you will be able invite friends to visit and/or edit lots together
