Getting all the developer tools is great, but I'm sceptic about the real dialogue. The game putting words into my sims' mouths was always a big red flag for me, and being able to edit the dialogue trees can only ever alleviate that problem, not negate it. Sure, I can define things like "Which candidate will you vote for mayor?" and then put my characters' names as the options, that's nice.
But then again in Sims 4 some my sims got arrested for espionage, and during the interrogation they started referencing a fishing trip and bickering amongst themselves. Later, during their trial, my hot-head sim casual mentioned tanks, what was... tense, to say the least. In a different context that same icon might have meant "the kids AGAIN didn't put away their toys", no need to fiddle with hundreds of dialogue strings. I'm afraid to lose those spontaneous moments.
