Section 16 - 🐕 Pets - Cats, Dogs, Birds, Horses, Unicorns & NPC Animals

Pet CAS

• Dogs & Cats in the Base Game. I'm cool with them being a tad limited on what they can do at first as long as they are always considered in subsequent EP and Game Packs. If they are Base Game, then the same CAP that made them can make other kinds of animals like a raccoon or a fox with less fuss. Then in order to differentiate the new animal species from cats and dogs its just a few new animations, interaction and sounds.
• Significant height difference in dogs. Sizes should be Toy, Small, Medium, Large, Xtra Large. Great Danes should not be the same size as Labradors.
• Puppies, Kittens & Foals should be in CAP, as well as elders
  

   

• Pets have vocal selections
• Pet eye color is chosen per eye as heterochromia can happen in pets
• Painting tools for Cat, Dog & Horse Coats (Werewolves too)
• Horses to be introduced in their own Game Pack or Expansion

Bird Details

• Having a Parrot, Cockatoo or Cockatiel should have different game play than if you have a falcon
• Small birds like Love birds should be slightly less game play that the Parrots etc. and falcons
• Cats watching parrots and parrot stressing out
• Basic Care like Nail Trimming
• Teaching them to talk - "Hello", "I love you", "Polly want a cracker", "Pretty Bird"
• Polly want a cracker Interaction
• Training - getting them to leave and return to their cage, accept petting, perching on the shoulder or hand
• Socialization - Talking to the Parrot/cockatoo like saying hello, goodbye. Letting them listen to music or tv
• Adding fun toys to the cage like ladders, mirrors etc.
• Feeding treats like fruit or shelled nuts and Not feeding them avocados or onions
• Some birds like cockatoos and parrots like a lite misting of warm water
• Cage and food/water bowls need regular cleaning
• Big cages should allow birds to perch on the top
• The peregrine should be treated somewhat like Sims medieval
• You should increase Charism by talking with your Parrots, Cockatoos
• Cats will want to hunt small birds and wild small birds
• You can cover the cage of small birds so they can sleep
• Befriending a bird like a Macaw, Parrot or Cockatoo should only happen IF there is a Vacation area that is native to them otherwise adopting them is the way to go

• Bowels - Relieved by urinating or defecting depending what the issue is

🦄 Unicorns

• Unicorns are most easily identified by the horns on top of their heads

    • Unicorns are immortal

    • Unicorns like fairies can have a magical tinkling sound when they teleport or do magic
    • Unicorn's eyes and horn change color and flash with gold or silver sparkles when using magic 
    • A Rainbow may emanate from its horn 
    • Unicorns appear at 8:00 PM (20:00) and disappear at 5:00 the next morning
    • Unicorns have magical energy, needed to use abilities. Each ability has a cost in energy.
    • Unicorns will spawn by bodies of fresh water. They can also spawn in the Fairy Secret Lot
    • When standing still there is a chance a small plant will grow. The plant will turn into leaves that can be carried away by the wind and disappear, with the chance that it will drop a vegetable or fruit on the ground
    • If horseshoes are placed upon a Unicorn they will turn gold.
    • Brushing the mane, body or tail of a unicorn can give the chance of gaining the magical ingredient Unicorn Hair

    • Unicorns attract butterflies during the summer days & fireflies at night 
    • Unicorns are attracted by Good Sims including Supernatural Sims

NPC Wild Land Animals 

• I think the hidden wildlife skill should make a return 
• These animals should behave and sound like their  real life counterparts. Not just dogs or cats with a different mesh
  • Wild Animal Types
    • Chipmunk or Squirrels - These wouldn't bother me if they were tied to a tree 
    • Deer like in Sims 3 roam the fields and forests. Deer hop, walk and run. Sims can watch Deer and pet friendly ones with enough wildlife skill.  Sims can watch them eat grass or drink from a pond or river. They will run from wolves which presumably eat them though we shouldn't see that. 
    • Fox - like Sims 4 but not tied to an object. Traits are Independent & Troublemaker but the get a third trait Friendly or Fearful. Friendly Foxes will let you pet them, fearful will just run away. Definitely add Fox sounds. "What does the Fox say?" 
    • Raccoon - Tips over garbage cans and roots around in dumpsters. Makes messes and wakes up sleeping Sims. Can be watched or shoo'd by Sims. Dogs can give chase but the Raccoons always get away unharmed. Traits are Mischievous & Territorial.  
    • Skunk 
      • Add Henri LeStank from Sims 1: Unleashed (Also inspiration from Stinky Skunk from Sims 2) back to the game 
        • Appears randomly on lots smelling flowers
        • If a Sim tries to pet him or a Pet tries to mess with him they get sprayed
        • Sprayed Sims and Pets will smell very badly to other Sims and they will need to bathe in a special bath to remove the smell
        • You can Watch, Shoo or Pet the Skunk
        • You can call for Animal Control to remove the Skunk from a Lot and they will call back and say he was released elsewhere
        • They will threaten before spraying giving Sims and Pets to back off
        • Skunks are the only Pet to have an Aspiration and its Romance
        • Henri will fall in love with any Black & White Female Cat 
        • World where Henri will mostly be seen in Hensford, Moonwood Mills,
        • They will Hibernate in Winter and are crepuscular
    • Wolves - Roams the forested areas would be great in spooky neighborhoods especially with werewolves. The packs should howl at the moon occasionally. It should be a small pack of them.
