Origin Shutting Down April 2025

Last day with Origin (2011). It was a better experience than EA Downloader (2005), EA Link (2006), EADM (2007) and EA App (2022) .

This has been going on for as long as the app has been around. Hard truth. If you know a way out of this then...You know.

I'm twisted and turned by this app.🙂💓

Now EA App harass me with popups about content that already owned or unlocked.

EA should stop to annoy the "loyal" players if they want to keep them.

That won't shut down the program correctly, I only do that if a program freezes or is unresponsive. 

I quit EA App by clicking Exit from the systray icon

one major issue with the EA App is you must exit the app by clicking the 3 lines top left then go to exit. If you click the X top right, the app will run in the background and then won't launch your games correctly next time. 

I thought Origin closed at least 2 years ago, it stayed active longer until the EA App had an Apple version, which it does. The EA app is more stable, crashes less. But that doesn't mean there aren't serious issues, like if you play Sims longer than 4 hours, it goes offline and sometimes crashes the game. Seriously though, as buggy as the EA app is, it is like 80% more stable than Origin. 

• Performance issue : Overuse CPU without reason
• Unable to load the library completely at the first launch only TS4 is visible, I must quit and re-open EA App in order to get the other installed games.
• Unable to stop EA service when EA App is closed (Quit), TS4 Program files folder is locked and can't be renamed for example.

NoahLGP what issues are you having with the EA App?

EA App is unstable so I'm looking for an alternative way.

I also excluded Steam, Epic Games Store and Instant Gaming options. Maybe I will go back to Amazon.
