Pirates and Nobles won't download (in Dutch)

I purchased The Sims Medieval Special Edition and the base game downloaded fine, but when I try to download Pirates and Nobles through the "Extra Content" menu underneath the game, the download says it's preparing, before saying it's complete in the span of about five seconds. The expansion never actually downloads and the Download button is still there for me to try again.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Origin, clearing out Origin's cache, and restarting my computer. Please help.

I'm on Windows 10, by the way.

Hi @EvaLisahihi,

Let's try something different then!

If you don't have base game installed, click on it to start the download, but make sure to uncheck the 'Pirates and nobles' box so it only installs the base game.

Once the installation of the base game is done, right click on the game and select 'Properties'.

In the small window that will appear, go to Advanced options (second tab) and change the language of the game to English. This process will download again the language files.

Once the process finishes, go to Extra content tab and download the Pirates and nobles Expansion Pack.

Once the pack is installed, repeat 2 and 3 to change the language to Dutch again.

That should help, let us know if it works for you 🙂

Thanks for this solution. I was having the same problem with the Dutch version. And better yet, I get to play my game in English too - which I wanted anyway. Now I just need to transfer my old saves so I can continue with the more advanced kingdom aspirations 🙂

This issue occurred with me as well. It's quite maddening. I even reinstalled Origin at some point which caused me to have to install all of my sims 4 content again (which is quite a lot) I'm currently trying this language trick, hoping that will fix it.
Also, worth mentioning, my origin client is in Dutch settings but I always prefer to play my games in English, so when asked in what language I wanted to install the base game I selected English. Yet, when I started the game after installation to see if it had worked, I noticed it had installed in Dutch anyway somehow. Is this a fault of this particular game, or am I better served to change my origin client to English as well to prevent this mishap in the future?

Thank you so much, changing the language helped. I used to play Pirates and Nobles on my old laptop on DVD, but now I have a gaming laptop and I can't put any DVD's in it. It wouldn't download on origins and it's been like a year, so thank you so much. I actually play all my games in English except for the Sims because I started playing that when I was just a kid. So it's good to finally switch to English. Tyyyy

@atreya33 Hey, ik heb hetzelfde probleem. Mijn Engels is niet supergoed dus ik begrijp niet hoe het opgelost kan worden. Zou u mij misschien willen helpen? Bij mij staat alleen Engels bij de talen die ik kan kiezen.

Are you trying to download the game on Origin or the EA App? Just wondering so we give you the right information.

@raverin9483 , currently there are problems switching languages in the EA App. If you check the EA App forums, they should have instructions on how to switch languages.

I am oke with the app being in English, but playing sims middielval in english is very hard. I hope they add dutch very soon. Thank you!

Unforturnately the sims medieval doesn't seem to be available on the EA App.
I tried installing from the EA app and also only have the option to install in English.
I know how to install games in Dutch because I did so for sims 3 and 4.
My work around was to install origin again and then use origin to change my game to Dutch
I really hope the Dutch version becomes available to download without the need of the work around mention in this thread
@raverin9483Jammer genoeg heb ik hetzelfde probleem. In de EA app kan je alleen engels kiezen als taal voor de sims middeleeuwen.
Ik heb speciaal voor sims middeleeuwen origin opnieuw geinstalleerd. Op dit moment is dat nog mogelijk maar ik weet niet meer voor hoe lang.
In origin is het nog mogelijk om de taal te wijzigen.
