Here is the beginning of a new story I just started, called Child of the Goths.
DISCLAIMER: I do not mean for this story to be offensive at all. Yes, there is abuse. I wanted to show a realistic family when a bad husband is in the mix.
Description: Mortimer Goth is the victim of two of the most influential people in all of Sunset Valley, his parents. A recent event has forced them into a never-ending love-hate feud, with each of them lashing out their anger onto poor Mortimer. Will Mortimer be able to survive this feud sane?
CHAPTER 1: THE FIGHT

Hello. My name is Mortimer Goth. My parents say that I got some of their best traits. However, who in the right mind calls Grumpy a good trait? Not my parents, because they're not in the right mind.

These are my parents, Gunther and Cornelia Goth. Actually, these are them before they fought.

This is my best friend, Bella Bachelor. Sometimes I think she is the one person left in the world that cares about me.
Now, I've been talking all about this fight, and you probably don't get what I mean.

I don't know how it started. They both came down from upstairs in pajamas, which was strange because they had been in regular clothes all day and it was only noon. The words they exchanged didn't make total sense, but I could figure out that I would probably be kicked out after a beating if I used any of them. And based on the words, either they didn't know or didn't care that I was watching them.
They were both really mad after the fight.
Mad enough to take out their anger on me.

They both apparently think that I should have backed them both up, which would be impossible, especially considering I didn't know what the argument was about!
And now I have two more enemies.

After being thoroughly yelled at for what I didn't even know what to possibly do, I storm upstairs. I don't want my anger to show around them or else my life will become even worse.

So, I make my anger discrete by sleeping in their favorite bed.

I sneaked downstairs early to eat breakfast and get out without having to see their faces.
And, when I get home from school, I find out what the argument was about.
