please bring back the sims 2

@XDParoXD , First of all, please note I am volunteer and a player like you. But I have been involved with this franchise since nearly the beginning.

1) For nearly four years (2014 to 2018) if you showed proof of owning Sims 2, you could contact EA Help Support and have Sims 2 Ultimate Collection added to your Origin profile (this was back when there was only Origin). You could purchase the game back then too as well. At this point the game was 10 years old and EA/Maxis was working on Sims 3 spending very little time maintaining Sims 2 due to its age. In late 2018, EA made the decision to retire the game meaning that it was no longer available to be purchased digitally on Origin (or anywhere else really) or being produced physically on CD/DVD disks. And this also meant that no new patches would be produced for the game. At this time the ability to add the game to Origin accounts was removed from EA Help Support although if you previously owned the game, they could help you recover your game on your account. I have asked and been told that EA/Maxis has no plans to date to remaster and rerelease the Sims 2 or any of the previous console versions of the game. EA is well aware of the fan support for the game and the requests to bring it back through a number of threads, petitions, polls and whatnot not only in this section, but in the old Sims Forums and on other fan sites.

The game is available for purchase from Amazon, E-Bay, thrift stores and game shops that sell used games. You will need an external disk drive to install and play the game though. The only digital version still for sale is only available for the Mac OS and is found on the Apple App Store under the name Sims 2 Super Collection which contains all the EPs and SPs released for the Mac which were ported by Aspyr. This verison of the game does not contain all the content that Ultimate Collection does, and is maintained and sold by Aspyr not EA or Maxis.

I am sorry if you were not around during this time, but once a game is retired it takes a great deal of time and effort to make the game replayable on modern computers and consoles. EA has choosen to spend their time and money pursuing other projects instead of keeping old games alive.

2) Sims 2 Pet Stories and Castaway Island were stand alone games that were not full versions of Sims 2, but used the Sims 2 game architecture to play a series of quest games. Like Sims 2, they were available on CD/DVD and would be available to purchase in the same places as Sims 2. Have you checked the EA App to see if they are still listed for purchase? I have been told that My Sims Stories is still available for purchase. I cannot confirm if it is as I play on a Mac and only have Sims 3 and 4 listed on my games.
