Please put Sims 1 back on Steam with all the skins and objects from prototypes!

Hi I grow up playing Sims! I am not interested in the sequels and only played the first game. I was wondering why EA still can't put Sims 1 back on Steam? This should already be a big demand! and look at Microsoft they managed to sell Age of Empires 1 on Steam so why not EA can't do the same?

We figured this had something to do with the DRM that prevent the game to run on newer Windows? or was there too much technical issues to fix? I remember all the way up to Complete Collection there was a issue never been fixed that always crash the game on buy and build modes even on the loading screen!

While those issues could be easily resolved by simply removing the DRM and make a patch to fix the cause of the crash, it seems like EA only wanted to move on to the future with Sims for the sequels and not stay in the past when you could give us more expansion packs with all of the content from prototype versions of the game put back into retail! and you only give us a coffee table that you removed from the base game?

We know Don Hopkins, Lucpix, and Mr Wright are currently holding prototype versions of Sims 1 but we're hoping you might still have backups of the builds they got somewhere in your own archives?

Its not really the prototypes we want, a new Steam release of Sims 1 with all the skins and objects from 1998 and 1999 prototypes put back together in the retail might be a more ethical and proper way to save back all those skins and objects you removed in the past as they are still considered lost until you guys might put them back into Sims 1 on Steam if you still have any way to access them in your archives somewhere.

I would be very happy and Im sure the Sims community will if you guys just bring back Sims 1 on Steam with all the content from prototype versions! Please make it happen if you can!

  • @lahrghtw9rab The Sims was not released digitally, it was only on the discs. If you want all expansions, buy the complete collection
  • Hi are you one of the staff? Im just sending my suggestion to bring back Sims 1 on Steam market. Fulfilling wishes from your fans to buy the first game from Steam store could help bring more profit than what EA are wasting their own valuable time and budget on pointless boring sequels!

We want you to know we don't want Sims 5! We want our belove original classic back on Steam! The discs are outdated and are no longer for sale in stores. You guys are better off selling Sims 1 on Steam if you only know how to remove the DRM and fix those game crashing bugs!

Please make it happen for us EA! You would be very glad that you did and not regret it! Please forward my message to the company who needs to hear our shout out! Its a very important piece of gaming history that should be revived from its eternal grave. a very special game to all our dear hearts that should never deserve to be put away and be forgotten! We want Sims 1 back no matter the cost for you and your company!

We would all really love to see Sims 1 on Steam and we would be more than being very happy to buy it!

Selling Sims 5 would be a wrong move for you and your company as many of us don't want it. Please consider putting Sims 1 on Steam with all of the missing skins and objects from prototypes including the Steering Committee 1998 demo and a earlier demo when it was called Jefferson.

There are no plans to remaster or re-release any of the older Sims titles. EA is very aware of the interest but all resources are currently directed toward Project Renee and Sims 4.
