Forum Discussion
In another thread, there is a discussion about Life by You and ParaLives being contenders for EA's Sims5/Rene throne. I'm a long-time Sims gamer, and even though I want Rene Project to succeed, there is one thing I'm hoping for that is a deal breaker for me. Not getting an open world like Sims 3. I want open world. I didn't play Sims 4 for that reason.
Other things I'd really like: less generic ableism and more diversity (I would love to see wheelchairs or blind/deaf), traits/wishes that actually "do" something within the world. As it stands now, none of the traits really "do" anything. For example, an "evil" sim might start a fight, but if that same evil sim witnesses a fight, it will call the authorities. This makes no sense. Theoretically, it should join in. It's evil. The "lucky" trait did nothing. etc.
I know that ParaLives is talking to their potential user base about the things they hope to see in the game, so I would hope items like the above would be added. I don't know as much about Life by You, but I believe they are targeting an open world, so they do have that going for them.
manamath2001 i try to respond in the best way i can, yes, not having a open world (or at least an open district) in sims 4 suck, a lot, because the game is pratically the same of watching an hamster in a cage, so i hope to the open world but honestly, i don't belive we see it in the sims 5, for the diversity, i talk about without any racist o evil intent, but, honestly for the game, looking like they work in the sims 4, less diversity is better, at the beginnig of the game, pratically when the game is relased, until a couple of years ago, after 2-3 generations, every single sim in the game, is a very very large size, and you can say, ok there's nothing bad in people with large size, but when the entire world is only in one way, and unless you create a new one, or for an "immortal" living since first generation, you can't find a skinny sim, or a buff one, things gone a little weird, even when they add body hairs, all the sims starting in the exact time become teenagers (no matter biologically male or female), become the thughest lumberjacks you ever see with the all extremly amount of body hairs, and with all respect of people with disabilities, and as a volunteer, but seeing how they work for diversity, if they add disability in the game, we pratically see all the sims disable, and of course there's nothing bad in it, but totally break the mood, because they pratically, don't know how to make diversity, or all sim are skinny, or are not, or all the sims doesn't have body hairs, or everyone have, there's no compromise, i agree partially about the wishes, tecnically wishes, is the "egoist" part of a person, for example, today i go out and buy a brand new shirt, so like they propouse at the begging, are not so bad, but i agree about traits, some trait are no use, and other need to be reworked to work properly, just a few traits are functional for the game, and have sense, and about life by you, there's a youtube channel about the game, but, some thing you can do, first, open world without loading screen, second, you drive your veichle, third, you pratically built off the grid (in one of the video, they show how to built in the game, and placing a stair go over the grid of the lot), fourth, as i can see, you can switch form a family to another in real time, without any loading, and i suppose, from here, until the relase of early access in september if i remember correctly, i'm sure more info will be relased, pratically, Life by You, risk to became what the sims was supposed to be by the beginnig, a proper life simulator.
