- mate543 years agoHero+@DragonPeaks Please make sure that you install all the patches for every pack if available (including the base game). They are available on Mod the Sims and SimsVIP.
Each patch needs to be installed as soon as its respective expansion pack is installed.
For base game, University and Nightlife, you will have to use GrumpyLoader (found on Mod the Sims forums) to run the patches and ignore errors, otherwise they will crash and corrupt your installation. - DragonPeaks3 years agoSeasoned Novice
I've never heard of GrumpyLoader. I'll use that for those patches. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any other tips for a safe installation?
@DragonPeaks ,while it may take longer. It's best to install your pack, patch them and then try to start them up to see if they work. This way you can see if there are any particular packs you may be experiencing problems with and by doing this one at a time (installing, patching, starting up) you can eliminate potential problems.

@DragonPeaksGrumpyLoader is a 3rd party program created after The Sims 2 patches started crashing on Windows 8. You can find it on a Mod the Sims thread titled "A word of warning about Windows 8", post #193.
Just like Tremayne said, make sure that each pack is patched and check that it works before you move on to the next one. Do not edit any game files (such as Graphics Rules or 4GB Patch) until you finish installing everything, since that might trigger the patches to run again. - DragonPeaks3 years agoSeasoned Novice
Thank y'all! I'll keep this is mind for when I re-install my games.
