I agree 100% with the OP. I would love to have Sims2 updated. I enjoy Sims4, but the series seems to be aging backward as I age forward. Sims4 is targeted to a younger audience than Sims2 was and the people who played that game are 20 years older, now.
I would love a Sims game that plays like 2 with the best parts of 4 thrown in - like some of the building and CAS tools, the way the Vampires were done, etc.
I wouldn't say it's aimed at a younger generation, It's just aimed at a
different generation and
kind of gamers. You probably have heard more then one person say "i disliked the older games because you were so busy keeping your mood up that you couldn't do anything else", even tho largely that wasn't even the case past the initial start where you had to live off of appliances with a low score in whatever you needed from it.
And
personally i prefer needing to balance needs and things i want to do. Being able to fill all my needs in the span of 5 sim hours and then have them not decay down to minimum in less then 20 hours would not feel good to me.
