It actually makes a lot of sense.

Twitter is more relevant as a platform . It’s more engaging.’The Sims’ is there because so are a lot of their fans . In fact a ton more simmers are active there , than here.

But I’d also like to add that simmers on Twitter are every bit as valid as simmers that share their opinions *here* .

And yes, an uprising on social media is not something most companies want for their brand.

I'm a simmer and I hardly ever use twitter and all my friends don't even use theirs.

It’s honestly their job to engage with their player base. Them not being on Twitter would actually make less sense.

That's not really their job though. That's the job of the marketing team and the community manager and the mods here. They are producers, programmers and artists, they are paid to make a product. If EA pays them extra to boast on twitter, I don't know. Lindsay handled it well though...it seems impossible to appease to that crowd.

It is their job. Thats why they do it. This forum isnt the only place where they need to interact with their fan base and communicate with their players about whats going on. Again, maybe some of you dont realize this, but The Sims has millions of players and they *arent* all here .

Its puzzling to me why the people on this forum keep insisting that only the forum matters, its absurd.

I'm pretty sure they're insisting the forums should matter seeing as this is the official Sims forum which is completely ignored by the Sims team unless Ninja pops around just before a pack release.
