Sims 1 Legacy - Vulcan Device Not Found

Question

Before the patch today, I was having the issue of the game just not launching and tried all of the posted suggestions including starting in compatibility mode with Windows XP, reinstalling the VC++ x86 and x 64, adjusting the NVidia settings and nothing worked.

With the patch today, it starts to launch but then says Vulcan Device Not Found. I have reinstalled my drivers to the latest and have no issue playing other games that also use Vulcan

My graphics card is: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU with the Game Ready Driver - 572.16 from Thursday Jan 30, 2025.

My CPU is: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13620H

The computer is running on Windows 11.

I've been experiencing the same issue. My Sims 1 game was not launching at all, but now this error shows up.&nbsp;

I have the same issue. Before the patch, the game wouldn't load, but now it tries to but comes up with that Vulcan device message. I admit I don't even know what Vulcan is...
