Sims 2 - Digital Deluxe

Hi,

I bought The Sims 2 - Digital Deluxe recently off eBay.

When I attempt to install it, windows brings up a red window saying, "This app has been blocked for your protection".

I've tried running it in 'windows xp sp2' compatibility mode as administrator and it still didn't work.

I've tried turning uac (user account control) settings off.

Googling makes me think its something to do with securom? Anyone know a way around this to get the disc to install? The Bonus DVD worked fine. I was able to watch the trailers and tutorial, etc. Just not the installation disc.

@Blue-Rose_01 Try disconnecting from the internet and setting the date to sometime in 2010. That worked for me once.

Yay! Thanks so much. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to play. Just have to make sure I disconnect the internet when I want to play without issues.
I bought an external dvd drive, and bought the game off eBay. Then thought it was all for naught. This means a lot. Be well. :-)
