Sims 2 cc not appearing in game but appearing in Body Shop (Mac)

I got The Sims 2 Super Collection on my mac yesterday and I decided I would get some mods, I'm pretty good with working out how to install mods and I followed every step needed to get mods on the game. The custom content showed up in The Body Shop and it was all perfect and until I actually loaded The Sims 2 and none of the custom content was in the game, just vanilla sims 2.

I obviously searched up how to fix this and I've tried everything; deleting cache, changing download folders, completely deleting Body Shop and Package Installer, turning custom content off and back on again in game, still no mods seemed to show up. This is a last resort, I don't mind playing vanilla sims, It would just be nice to have custom content as I normally have it in my other sims games.

  • @watermeloncrusr The first two things worth checking are that the Mods/CC are compatible with Super Collection and installed into the correct location. Only Mods/CC compatible with Bon Voyage EP and older packs (excluding Celebration! and H&M Stuff Packs) are going to work in the Mac version. And, by default, the Downloads folder should be located inside the following folder (you will probably have to create a Downloads folder yourself):

    ~/library/Containers/com.aspyr.sims2.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Aspyr/The Sims 2

To locate it, please copy this file path, then open a Finder window, hold down Cmd+Shift+G and paste the path into the box. Most Mods/CC are installed into this Downloads folder, unless the Mod creator specifies otherwise.

Next, the game has two toggles in the Game Options that enable/disable CC. Catalogs Display Custom Content needs to be On for CC to be visible. In the same options menu, next to Display Custom Content Dialog at Startup, click on the CC star, which should give you a popup to enable/disable custom content, as well as tell you whether CC is currently enabled. You will need to restart the game after making any changes to this.
