nualla_6109 Does your computer have an Intel processor, 12th-gen or newer? If so, that's the issue. Please see the accepted solution of this thread for more information:

nualla_6109 Try updating PowerShell:
The easiest way is to open the current version of PowerShell and run the Winget command.
Keep in mind that PowerShell 7.x doesn't necessarily replace your current version, so you'll need to make sure you're in the correct version and then copy and paste the script directly into the PS window. Running the file will likely open the older version.
I believe PowerShell 7.x is just listed as "PowerShell," and the older version is "Windows PowerShell," but that info might be outdated. Regardless, you can search in Windows or look at your list of apps and try each PS version until you find the right one.

Were there any other fixes for this? I can just about get the game running using the code in Powershell but I have to turn the brightness all the way down because the in game graphics are bleach white for some reason, and after a maximum of fifteen minutes playing the game crashes.
elskamo_ron You could use Process Lasso to temporarily limit the game to one CPU core, but that has the same effect as the PowerShell script, that is as long as you lift the limit once the game has loaded. Neither should have any effect on how the game looks or runs after that.
For the graphics, does your monitor have HDR? Sims Medieval is much too old to support the tech, and many older games look bleached-out or otherwise discolored with HDR enabled.
For the crashing, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
