Sims 2 Crashing at Startup + BodyShop
Greetings, The Sims Community.
I am having unfortunate problems in getting The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, along with BodyShop running in a new computer I bought, which is an Alienware with the following specs:
Device name DESKTOP-0QHOPRM
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900F CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81 GHz
Installed RAM 128 GB (128 GB usable)
Device ID 58E4BABF-65F1-4F77-8212-25C4CA3EC5E2
Product ID 00325-82083-46118-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display
I have tried to fix the game by reinstalling it, repairing it, updating it, and even using other methods like compatibility and the 4GB patch but to no avail; my whole game got broken.
Is there a way to make it run in my computer again?
Best regards,
- Christian
@ChrisinLiberty Have you tried taking out your current Sims 2 folder out of Documents\EA Games\ so the game could generate a completely new, vanilla folder? Perhaps there is something in the current folder that might be acting up.
If that doesn't fix anything, check that your Windows and drivers are up to date, and scan for corrupt system files (open Command Prompt as Admin, type in sfc /scannow, press Enter and wait for it to finish). If everything else fails, I can also post instructions for installing a dxvk fix.
