Sims 2 does not start at all - Please read first post carefully before posting

seems very common and all error messages look alike and not really OS related (well at least Win 7 and 8.1 seem to have this issue). 

Do any of you have th download version of Sims 3 or Medevial installed ? Those come with SecuROM too and there might be a paul.dll that works. Someone posted in another thread that they had luck with that solution.

Could you all add your Antivirus program to your posts (just edit it) and also check if you have any cd emulators (like alcohol, nero, ..) installed on your system.
