Sims 2 Nintendo DS

i just recently purchased this game and everything was going great and I was having the time of my life with this game. But in unfortunately, shortly into the game one day the top screen of the DS is rotating (POV) constantly in game and won’t stop. I’ve restarted the game and even tried a new game but it had the same problem. No buttons are jammed. I know it’s an old game on an old system but I’d love to keep playing and find a fix to this. This problem makes this gem of a game essentially unplayable. I’d love some help finding a fix to this!
