Sims 2 ultimate collection: product key not working?

Hey I downloaded SIMS 2 ultimate collection with the I-LOVE-THE-SIMS. Great that worked! I installed the game, great that worked! when i start to click on play. it asked for a product key, which...

    It should work for everyone again now. If you still have issues with the code, please get in contact with an EA Game Advisor.

Exactly the same problem with my game - the given product key just won't work.

Thanks. It's probably not a factor, but just so I have the data to hand, can those affected check if their Origin is set to use Beta Particpation? You can check this by clicking Origin in the top left, then Application settings, then scroll to the bottom to check.

    Nope I am not currently in  beta Participation.

    And if i am in beta it still give the same error.

    My Origin was not set to use Beta Participation. I tried to start The Sims before and after activating that option, but it still not working ☹️

    Also tried to copy & paste the product code, but it was exactly the same.
