I have The sims 2 Ultimate collection on origin.
Everything works great until I have choosen a neighbourhood, when I then come into the loading screen it loads until Creating pets comes up, then it freezes & crashes.
When i tab out i have a window pop up where it says "Application has crashed. Application will now terminate" 😢
@plexisim , do have lots of CC and mods installed? If so this could be causing the game to crash.
Here is the easy way to fix it and to at least play the game.
Locate your Sims 2 folder (found Documents > EA Games > Sims 2). Move (do NOT copy and paste or create a short cut) the folder to your Desktop. This folder is where your Saved games, CC and Mods are stored. You can either rename it or leave it alone.
Next start up the game and allow for a new Sims 2 folder to generate. Play the game for about an hour or so to insure that everything is running ok again. Then save your game before you quit and exit. Always do this as simply saving and exiting often corrupts your game. I would check the sites you downloaded your Mods from to make sure you have the most updated versions of them. Some creators do still update their content for the game. You may have limit the amount of CC you use in your game. Go through and cull your CC. There are also programs that will allow you to check for corrupt CC or names that may be too long. You'll need to do a Google search on these as we aren't allowed to link to forums themselves.
