Sims 2 Ultimate Collection won't load my neigborhood

I experienced the same issue with my game. The neighborhood I replaced was intextricably missing when I ran the game. It seems like this user had better luck:

I posted on that thread to confirm that the procedure of replacing the neighborhood folders was the same.

It seems a number of people have been successful in transfering their old game files...just not us, I suppose. I'm sort of relieved I'm not alone, though.

I've found that if I only replace the folders for Characters, Lots, Storytelling, and Thumbnails the default neighborhood of Veronaville will still show up when loading the game. When I enter the neighborhood, some of my Sims replace the Shakespearean ones when I click on a lot and see the family posed together. When I enter the lot, the Sims turn back into the default ones, but the houses are mine...furniture and walls as I had placed them (any additional lots I created don't show up on neighborhood view).

This only happens with the central neighborhood and not Downtown or Bluewater or anything.

Veronaville only seems to disappear completely when I replace the N003_Neighborhood.package file with mine.

I tried uninstalling UC and reinstalling with my discs, but my computer wouldn't let me install Best of Business or Fun with Pets, saying they were already installed (they're not...I removed everything per EA's instructions including registry keys). So I hit a wall there as well.

I do have store edition. This sounds like a plausible fix. I'll try it out and let you know if it is successful.

What they said in the tutorial is absolutely true and cannot be circumvented. You need to have one of those "collections" installs. My version of "Pets," for example, was the original installation which is just "The Sims 2 Expansion Pack" and not "The Sims 2: Fun with Pets Collection." My installation files do not include an EP99 folder.

I don't have an EP99 folder either.  Is there a fix if you don't have that folder??

I have the same problem   all the neighood load but not veronaville gone in to my files  to no won't load

@shulamite14 , try this. Find your Sims 2 file (found Documents > EA Games > Sims 2) and move that folder to your Desktop. Do NOT copy and paste or create a shortcut, actually move the file. Don't worry your saved games/CC/Mods will be safe on your Desktop. Next start up the game as normal. This will allow the game to regenerate a new Sims 2 file. Once the game starts up, check your Neighborhoods to see if all of them are there and pick one and play for about an hour to make sure the game is running correctly. You can save if you wish or simply quit.

Please start a new thread if this solution worked for you as this thread is over six years old and if you need additional help it is easier to see. We can worry about transferring your saved games once we know the game is working properly again and all the neighborhoods show back up.

in my case,  I try to go to my neighborhood but it keeps loading and never goes the the neighborhood .  I don't know why?  I love Sims 2 ultimate collection. I don't know what to do.
