Sims 2 University Life Collection and Sims 2 Fun With Pets Collection not working

Hi there! About a year ago I bought 'Sims 2 Fun With Pets Collection' and 'Sims 2 University Life Collection' off Origin, downloaded and installed them both. They worked fine and registered. I just...

Do you have your base game on Origin too? Usually Origin installs games to this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games

If you have the base game on disc, please do not install to the default folder that it suggests during the installation. Install it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 instead. This way Origin will "recognise" that you have the base game installed.
