I want to get myself a copy of Sims Complete Collection (cd Rom) AND a laptop to play it on. Can anyone advise the best system to use for this game? The game specs ask for Windows 98. Will it work with other versions?

it turns out the cd drive wasn’t working.
i have bought an external drive & the game has loaded & plays perfectly.
@kellibabi75 , yes, Sims 2 on disk will play on most any Windows OS with some minor teaks and an external disk drive. Once you get the laptop let us know and we can help you get the game up and running.
I have the laptop (xp & windows 7). I’ve tried to install the game but having no luck. When I go to My Computer, the disk isn’t named there (just says E:drive). If I click on there, nothing happens. Have tried shutting down, restarting & reinserting the disk but it just won’t work.
@kellibabi75 , do you have a disk drive? Most often the disk drive is named D:
