Sims Medieval Disc Version not launching on Windows 11 Intel Raptor Lake

I know it seems like a relic of the past, but I have an ancient disc copy of Sims Medieval plus Pirates and Nobles that I haven't been able to get to work now that I have a new computer. I'm aware...

    That worked! And after applying the fan made patch, the game runs!

    If only that were the end of the tale. Unfortunately, there's a pop-up shortly thereafter, saying that the installation verification fails after launching, saying that the installation of the game is incomplete after downloading the ea app version.

    Which then promptly closes the game. If you click to close it.

    So... we're almost there!
