sims medieval error 16

I just bought this game yesterday, I am using a windows surface pro 9, all my software is up to date. Why is it that I am running into this issue? I even reset my pc deleting everything and starting fresh to see if there was anything lurking in the background and there is not because when I redownloaded the sims medieval from ea app, my old saves were still there (which i cannot delete) and it still will not let me save properly as I get an error 16 popping up on my screen and freezing up.

My daughter has a similar computer but the surface pro 7 and she uses it for college and is not running into this issue (yet).

Can this be fixed also is there a way to delete the old files from withing ea since it is not on my hard drive? I hardly play videogames as it is and when i find a good game i like is extremely enjoy it, i do not know how many times i have replayed the entire age of empires 2 campaign, so i do not want to lose the sims medieval game due to an error code.

So please ea fix this problem because it is not on my end.

1. I factory reset my pc (to clear anything in the background and ensure i have space).

2. it is completely up to date.

3. window surface pro 9  (new pc)

4. bought the digital version so i know it is properly downloaded and running without an disk (which i also own but do not want to deal with using an external disk reader, and no i did not download the disk to this laptop at all) .

5. i tried doing the save as tip/trick and it also gives me the error 16

So now what?
