Sims Medieval (physical copy) won't launch with Windows 10

All the responses I've seen have said to type in your product code on Origin to redeem a digital copy, but that doesn't work for me. I even uninstalled and tried again but no luck. It just tells me it can't do that. I've tried on both Origin and The Sims 3 website. All this after finally getting The Sims 3 to run after a year of trying. Now, I can't even get anyone on EA's live chat. The wait says under 5 minutes to be connected with someone, and I waited for over two hours. This is the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. Every EA product I buy is a stressful, terrible hassle that won't run like every other game I have from different companies. Has anyone figured out how to make Medieval run without having to redeem a digital copy? It's ridiculous if I just paid for a game that I can't play AGAIN. I should just be able to pop the disk in and play.

  • @yascaydeki Hi,

First off, you could contact an EA Advisor and get assistance for adding a digital copy of your game to your Origin account: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new

Log in with your EA Account and choose "Origin" as Product, your Platform, "Codes and promotions" as Topic, select "Invalid code" and describe your issue to see all available contact options.

If that does not work however, you can read on for an alternative method to get your physical copy working.

Both SimGolf and Sims Medieval as well as other games used a DRM (Digital Rights Management) called Securom, when they were developed.

When designing Windows 10, due to security concerns, Microsoft decided not to allow this type of DRM to work anymore.

Check out this forum post by samnunn92 here in relation to SimGolf to see what you can do to get it working: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-EA-Games/Sim-Golf/m-p/5183914/highlight/true#M36185

Let me know how you get on.

    Cheers,

    Nils

I have tried the posted solution and got this response: The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

Yeah me too. I really want to play my physical copy of The Sims: Medieval but I don't know how to fix the installation problem.

I get this too.  Has anyone found a way to play Sims Medieval?
