Sims Midieval Doesn't work

Purchased a few days ago, I did all the basics, uninstall and reinstall, the repair the app offers. Tried the  powershell script fix I found online which managed to get the game to launch, but not smoothly. The lag was so bad it was basically non functional (weird because my PC handles TS4 with every expansion and zero lag or even load time.) Tried to get a refund but couldn't, since it's technically been launched. I even tried the Alder Lake patch but that's a no as well.

Any advice? Or is this just a loss
