the sims + the sims packs will not run

I am also unable to launch the game, it says “preparing to launch” then immediately crashes back to the ea app. I have also restarted, repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I hope they fix it soon otherwise I will be disappointed and forced to get a refund. 

I did everything and unfortunately it still doesn't work for me.

Can someone help me follow those instructions I don’t even understand how to follow whatdonutlover13 said… where do I start? Properities is it I can’t seem to find it. Please help. Having problems with sims 1 it is not loading opens up and it crashes immediately, very frustrated waited for this this moment a long time and cannot play the game. EA do better

I can't do this step : Set compatibility mode on sims.exe to Windows XP SP3, check Run as administrator, and be sure to click the button that says apply to all accounts before applying" .

Someone can help me please?? I'm waiting this moment for a loooooong time :( 

I tried the marked solution and it still didn't work. :(

Following the suggested fix allowed me to launch the sims! However I needed assistance from my computer savvy bf so I hope this will be patched in as a more permanent fix.
